Melbourne Court, Paddington - Full Flat Refurbishment

Residential Flat / Full Strip-Out & Refurbishment

About

This project was a complete high-end refurbishment of a flat at Melbourne Court, Paddington, carried out from a full strip-out through to a brand new fit-out. The works included a complete rewire and replumb, individually controlled underfloor water heating throughout, bespoke doors, wardrobes and bathrooms, continuous solid wood flooring running throughout the flat, and a striking Victorian mosaic finish to the balcony. The entire project was delivered while the building remained fully occupied, carried out quietly, cleanly and professionally with barely any disruption to the neighbours.

Challenge

The flat needed a complete transformation - a full strip-out, rewiring, replumbing and a brand new fit-out - but the building itself remained fully occupied throughout, with every material and tool having to be carried up and down via the stairs rather than a lift. The brief required an exceptional standard of finish, and the work had to be carried out without disturbing the neighbours living around the site.

Solution

Quattro planned the strip-out and fit-out carefully around the occupied building, carrying all materials up and down the stairs and keeping noise, mess and disruption to an absolute minimum throughout. The flat was completely rewired and replumbed, with individually controlled underfloor water heating installed throughout. Bespoke doors, wardrobes and bathrooms were built to order, continuous solid wood flooring was laid throughout the flat, and a Victorian mosaic finish was installed on the balcony.

Results

The flat was delivered to an exceptionally high standard despite a challenging delivery environment. Materials and waste were carried in and out by hand via the stairs, and work was scheduled and managed to minimise noise and disruption to neighbours throughout. The finished result met the brief's exacting standard.
